I spent many, many hours fiddling around in Corel Painter to figure out exactly how I wanted to make my background, then many more hours actually painting it. I probably did a few things in a more difficult way than necessary, but I’m pretty satisfied with the end product.

This will be the main background for the series, and I gave myself some room to play around with some stuff later on.

I still need to create a second background for a different scene, but I’ll get around to that one after I’ve begun doing the animatic for the opening bits. I won’t feel like I’ve accomplished much until I actually see some movement.

I need to go to bed now, though, because I’m starting a new part-time job tomorrow working the merchandise counter at a children’s theatre. I’m looking forward to it. I think it should be fun!
