So...
I’ve been completely useless for the past couple of days. I’ve been, perhaps, the absolute most fruitless member of society.
Yesterday and today consisted of me doing…nothing. I had all day yesterday and all day today to do some animation, and I frittered that time away. I got out of bed after noon each day and just goofed around online and watched Hulu and Netflix.

I had a dream
where I got to meet all of my Irish Tumblr friends (and Charlie) at a party. I gave them all big hugs. Soon after that, though, we all watched some random people sing a song from Sister Act. Then, Andy Richter came in, and he and I did an improvised sketch that was being broadcast live.
Though very strange, I enjoyed this dream.

Jimmy Fallon continues to do spot-on music impressions. Seriously, man. Neil Young, Jim Morrison, David Bowie, and now Eddie Vedder. Whether or not you like his style of hosting (which I do), you can’t deny that he’s got insane impersonation chops.

I’ve got one more character that’s in almost as many shots. I’ll work on her tomorrow. I might even get to the two minor characters tomorrow. I have no doubt that the actual animation will take the full two weeks though.
I think I’m finished working for today. I might relax and watch Crazy, Stupid, Love, which I’ve had from Netflix for a few days now.

I'm getting a little fatigued from animating.
I’ve been at it since around 11:30am. My brain is starting to get sluggish, and I’ve got a weird cramp in my shoulder from the way I’ve been drawing. I think it’s time for a break. Perhaps, I’ll play a video game for a short while or something.

Exhausted.
I didn’t get enough sleep last night, and I barely seemed to have done anything today. I started work on painting the background for one of the scenes in the cartoon I’m working on, but I didn’t finish.

After more than 2 years of writing, editing, and rewriting, “The Music Obsessive’s Guide To Life: Volume One” is complete! Without the preface, it clocks in at 509,668 words (920 pages in Word), and as soon as I find a printing house that can handle this thing, sales will begin. I am now going to go and have a rather well-deserved complete mental breakdown.

Best open mic so far.
My set tonight was, perhaps, the best that I’ve done it so far. Because the audience was a mixed bag of various types of performers, as well as a few people who were just audience members, I got a solid number of laughs tonight. I think my material has reached average comedian status: not quite ready for TV but enjoyable.
I can now work on a completely new 5 minutes. Maybe I’ll do...

For the moment, I'm satisfied with the background...
I spent many, many hours fiddling around in Corel Painter to figure out exactly how I wanted to make my background, then many more hours actually painting it. I probably did a few things in a more difficult way than necessary, but I’m pretty satisfied with the end product.
This will be the main background for the series, and I gave myself some room to play around with some stuff later on.

A quick test.
I wanted to see if a character with solid outlines would look out of place in front of a painted background.
I think with some shading on the character, the painted background will work just fine.
